Free OSS Forum Day in Hobart April 6
FROST have organised an ‘Open Source Software Forum’ to be held at the Old Woolstore Hotel in Hobart on 6 April 2006. The forum will be used to promote awareness and understanding of OSS and to examine the risks and benefits associated with the adoption of the software. The forum will also provide an opportunity to showcase OSS solutions using case studies and/or pilot programs discovered via market research. The forum will involve stakeholders from within government, the community, local business and the Tasmanian ICT industry.
Who Should Come?
This forum is open to IT strategists, policy & decision makers;
users, developers and service providers from Government, the community,
local business &
the IT industry.
Forum objectives
- To provide IT professionals and users with a forum to discuss and learn about OSS and related issues
- To present specific experience related to OSS
- To act as a medium for communication between IT professionals and users on subjects related to OSS
- To encourage research into OSS related issues.
